Seriously people really are too sensitive nowadays. A setting like this (excluding the BL) happens in US movies, TV shows all the time and no one complains. Also I bet people wouldn't have complained as much if the slaves would've been white or if it would've been 1:1 the same story/ wording, but in a fantasy setting with the slaves being elves or something. Can we please go back to "You don't Like it? Ok then don't read/ watch it, leave and let the others have fun."?

I also believe in don't like don't read but please use your thinking caps for a second, you sound dense. Understand the issue.

When movies and show from the U.S. make stories about this they usually do an extensive research before hand and rarely romanticize it.
There lots of different books and anime with slavery in it, the difference is that none of them are using actual real life events which is why they dont get as much hate either.
If you had actually listened in history class if you are from America then you would know as to why jaxx is getting this type of feedback. Also if you can't handle any valid hate towards media you consume then dont be on the internet

First of all I'm not american, also I don't give a f*ck if people hate on the things I watch/ read, but well those assholes are hard to ignore if the things I consume get dropped because of them. Also she didn't romanticize anything and on the other hand since when is romanticizing something in fiction a problem? Just look at topics like rape, incest, murder, mafia etc. inside and outside of BL they're well liked, accepted and wanted by readers, otherwise they wouldn't sell so well (same goes for master x servant/ slave plots). As for how close it is to history, if that bothers people so much, how come the outcry for Disneys Pocahontas wasn't that big? It even got a 2nd movie and is still featured in Disney Parks around the world. The thing about fiction is that you can choose a setting and create a story to your liking, including changing history, that's what she did. There is a super long list of books and movies about real people from history books that strayed super far from reality. I mean it might surprise you but the 47 Ronin weren't lead by an american guy and the guy from "The greatest Showman" wasn't that kind man from the movie. So why is all of that ok, but the world will end if a korean BL author writes a story about a white guy having a relationship with a black slave
