I don’t really think historically accurate films, in which directors and cast members usually have extensive knowledge of what they are re-enacting, and involve actual black people who probably have more of a understanding of slavery and its effects, is comparable to a boys love manhwa. I’ve seen people online saying that the author is a humanities student, and if so is true, then I’m sure they have a good amount of knowledge on slavery and could have continued writing this story without the slavery and confederate vs union aspects turning into something with racist undertones. My comment was just pointing out that I don’t really see why the author added the slavery aspect in the first place because BL stories don’t have to be historically accurate to be considered a good story, and sometimes they turn into a “white savior” or a weird slave x master dynamic

Yikes.. I was very excited for this story to drop, but then again, slavery is a very delicate topic, and while I don’t think the author meant to come off as racist at all, I don’t really see a reason as to why a BL would have to touch on such topic?
