"Simply storytelling as close as history to that era as possible" is laughable when the author herself stated said she lacked specific care and nuance when writing this story? White savior story tropes are a huge problem within media. Why are we being purposefully dense?
Why are we putting a spotlight on a story that tries to sympathize with the white man who's family has enslaved a group of people for labor? Babying a grown woman.

People need to understand that not talking about it won't erase what happended, cause it did happen. The author it's simply storytelling as close as history to that era as possible. People is acting as if she brougth slavery back or smt. Her only mistake probably was not adding a warning at the beggining for the extra sensitive yt descendants of the actual wrong doers back in those years, some of yall boomer grandpas still believed in slavery back in the 60's- 70's but oh well, hopely Jaxx will get past this and come up with some other great BL in like 2 more years, ugh smh.
