Why did the majority of people immediately agree to cancel song of the wasteland, but not the thousands of other BLs out there that also makes slavery the fetish material? The bottom in Reverse Thinking is literally kept inside and is constantly tortured. It's rape and slavery thats written disrespectfully. I'm not saying that SOTW wasn't a horrible representation of a real historical period that was filled with endless suffering and real hardship for the marginalized communities in Northern America, because I myself fully agree that it should be cancelled and such a horrible depiction of it isn't okay. I'm just confused how one fetishization of a traumatic event can easily be turned into a jerk off material and be popular, while another is (again, rightfully) seen and discussed as it is: shit. I hope people can give the same energy they rightfully gave to SOTW... to basically some of the most popular BLs currently, even if thats prob not possible :(

I’ve never read both of the names you dropped but it’s seems like people have double standards. I’ve seen two manhwas that share the Student X Teacher troupe and one gets hated while the other does not? And it makes no sense to me. They both share the same troupe so why is one okay while the other isn’t.

there’s definitely a double standard but i think the discrepancy is because jaxx’s one is tied to a specific historical era of slavery that has and still causes pain irl, where in reverse thinking (haven’t read it so i might be wrong) tends be brushed off as “fiction” as the slavery aspect isn’t tied to race or history, but is rather contained to the two main characters
