Distracting in what way? What's the issue with that ? The author is a fan and Takes great inspiration from his favs works. He never once claimed it was his inventions nor designs. We even have a spin off white washed version of Alucard and D. Malloy lmao. I think it's a nice touch
I've been looking at the story, and the characters are all very likable. I've read every chapter; it's just a little distracting to see so many elements taken from Elden Ring, and it pulled me out of the story when I first noticed it.

Yeah, I've gotten over it now. At first, it really distracted me from the story cause I kept seeing things from Elden Ring. It's kinda fun noticing all the Elden Ring stuff since I am also a massive fan of FromSoftware games
I’m just getting into this series and is kinda distracting seeing all the Elden Ring weapons and armor. Vanessa’s teacher was wearing the Alberich’s set, in chapter 36 MC is using the great sword, and Adon Prasso is using the Serpent-hunter greatspear. Do they start making their own weapon designs later in the series or what?
