The premise of this story is so bizarre. So your best friend confesses to you and instead of rejecting him or even saying that he would like to end things cause he feels uncomfortable, he just says "Since you are the one who destroyed our friendship by confessing I will play along with you and date you" and literally stays in this "relationship" for years. Both of them must lack quite a lot of brain cells. But maybe me too cause I am invested :(.
