I could tell ML was deluding himself into thinking all he feels for MC is as an obedient pet, when it's clear he felt posession at first which grew into obbsession and later became love at the end (bcs he wants mc to feel alive instead of physically keeping him alive) his expression does trick you in to thinking that his every shows of affection were calculated, which he might have thought so as well before accepting he's indeed feeling love.
I believe this is the first completed dungeon themed BL I've read (excluding guideverse) and I'm so very pleased with this! kinda didn't keep track of all those bits abt hidden ability and their penalities but that's okay I'm here for the relationship wish they had shown the smut tho would've easily be 125 chapters at least
