The way the cancellation of this manhwa has caused some of you guys to show your true colors as racists is bogus how are yall gonna ride so hard for a story that literally has 1 chapter, to the point that you’re gonna be blatantly racist and hateful to others? The chapter itself was already controversial but the racist, hateful, bigots in this comment section have tainted the potential of what this story could’ve been by showing that some of you guys don’t understand why the civil war, slavery, and African American history is so important to this day and don’t take this period in history serious enough even though it should never be forgotten because it truly is that deep.

i swear cuz if jaxx were to release this story anew, with more respect, and knowledge, less power dynamics, and actually got into the history and politics and the true horrors based on which the stroy is grounded, these retards would STILL whine about it be stretched out and boring cuz they just cant wait to see two guys fuck asking "when will they do it?" "any smut?"

No the chapter itself didn’t have any racist or hateful speech itself, but is it not weird that the premise of this story revolves around a slave x his master? Even though the mc is inherently “freeing” them, the whole question revolving this story is, why would the author choose to write a BL love story set right after the civil war, a time where even though the union won, slavery was still in its prime, when they could’ve easily written a simple western story without all the historical aspects. While historically accurate pieces of literature, film, and media are definitely needed, why would a Korean person decide it’s their place to give their take on this topic?

EXACTLY!!! If the AUTHOR themselves recognizes that they don’t see themselves fit to write such story, why would readers push so hard for this story to continue

Death threats against the author are not needed, and the people who sent them are in the wrong BUT that still isn't the same thing as saying "everyone who criticized the story canceled the author" most of the criticism wasn't "how dare slavery exist in a historical setting." It was about *how* slavery was being used in the narrative. Those are two different arguments and again, the author herself said she didn't feel confident she could handle the subject with the sensitivity it deserved. That's not the same as saying every critic wanted the series erased. You're lumping together harassment, criticism, and the author's own decision as if they're all one thing, when they aren't.

Your comment says “he was probably going to free his slave top too” which means you grasp the fact that ml is a slave in this story, and the Mc freeing him just seems like a white savior type of trope. That is the issue and criticism people have with this story. Sending death threats is in no way okay, but my comment and the comments of many others are simply criticism and curiosity as to why the author decided to write this story around the aspects of slavery.
