I enjoy both versions, they both have their charms

At least from what I remember from the novel, the manhwa actually made the reveal a little more emotional, with him having the tear in his eye and stuff. In the novel, he wasn’t supposed to be super shocked and was really nonchalant about her gender that it was almost anticlimactic bc he doesn’t truly care what Adis true gender was and loves her regardless bc he himself also had an ambiguous form that made him detached from people’s outer appearances, but it does help him figure out what the Grimaldis are truly up to and what they were planning for Adi.

Disclaimer, I haven’t read the novel in a long time so I could also be wrong

np you're kinda right, in the manhwa it felt pretty rushed tho, in the novel there was more logical and touch moments, the reader knew the anxiety of adi just as the curiosity of the duke to get to know her better
i still prefer the novel one tho, here it seems he understands and feel deep emotions for the situation in which adi lived till now, but in reality the duke never knew how to love and how to really be sentimental and understanding about many things, however in the novel he learns and gets better at it while getting to know adi and her past, in the manhwa it's just.. rushed at this point ._.
I mean it should be a slow burn but my boy here is already deep in love like what

I enjoyed the novel more too!! I was surprised that he wasn’t surprised bc that’s usually how this sort of trope goes but I thought it very fitting for his character. It’s been overall pretty accurate but the manhwa did skip some parts that kind of made me sad like it not showing Roy getting trained on the Grimaldi sword style. But I enjoy some other parts like being able to see the servants appearances that weren’t really detailed in the novel :))
