I love that this manhwa does something unique, it makes actual women. Not big breasted drooling over mc women, but complex and realistic women. Pin, the elf commander, the frog and even the beast woman, they all display femininity while not detracting from their characters. I think the best example is Pin. The very first time we meet her, she’s all over Encrid making obvious sex jokes, but she doesn’t slobber over him. It doesn’t detract from her being a strong fighter and ranger. All she is, is a woman with a small crush that doesn’t interfere with plot nor anything else. Ans the elf. She’s strong, but she makes dead pan jokes sit being Encrid’s fiancé- that go on for the entire manhwa, it’s funny and enjoyable. It’s just like the Banter he has with the lunatic squad, not just some random flirting because she’s a female character, and it shows her closeness with him as well. The frog is special I think, because we see her wanting to form a mental bond with Encrid. She’s a strong fighter, scholar, and has a backstory of vengeance, but she’s nurturing. She passionately teaches Encrid with the tutoring sword, and this emotional mental bond makes her emotional, makes her empathetic, makes her seem more feminine without detracting from who she is as the core. The beast woman is a bit different, but not by much. She likes Encrid, but doesn’t slobber over him. And her feelings stem from a gratefulness of having a place to belong after being an outsider, a feeling many can relate to. She’s a bit sexualized, but she’s a strong fighter and thinks for herself, and what she doesn’t do that romantic can just be brushed aside bc it’s not serious or placed on her being a beastkin and hoping she won’t act on it seeing as we’ve known her for like 5 ch. Esther is the classic push and pull, standoffish like still doing things that are subtle hints of affection. It’s just really well done over all.
