Apparently canceling an apprent problematic trope that could romantize slavery mean not wanting black/darker skintone character to them so they tryna say BWAT has dark skintone character too and it's not cancel. It’s on X right now. They are now changing their argument from racism because a lot pointed out that this doesn’t have racism to it. Apparently those people hadn’t read a single chapter and went straight to jumping to conclusions. Since racism can’t be proven to this story they are now arguing that this one should be cancelled too for being orientalist. Saying BWATnim’s stories are full of orientalism to it.
People are telling them that this is fantasy fiction but they are adamant to cancelling it because BWAT used mix cultural representation as reference to her works.
At this point no amount of explanation are going through them. Someone even said that if I’m not a people of colors then I don’t have a say to it. I was like, I am a people of colors and that person said if Korean works uplifts my insecurities for my skin color then that’s on me but not them.
