To state this is no hate I did enjoy the book in most of the parts and I love how creative the author is and I love how they wrote themes about theme about classism and power abuse. However, the author has so many ingredients to actually make an excellent manwha that could’ve been in the same range as Shutline but chooses to make rape slop. I usually don’t hate on manwha, but Barge In had so many moments where you think the plot is progressing or getting better, but BOOM, the author hits you with an unnecessary sex scene that doesn’t go with the plot and just paints the ML as a Muzan type of character rather than a complex character. If the author had hired a better editor who would give them advice on where to improve on certain scenes or tell them that you don’t need unnecessary sex scenes to hit the quota for the day, this could’ve been good, and I hate how the art style is so MWAH and the concept of a boy who lost everything and joins the army to kill the people who caused his sister's death is TERRIFIC; however, the way it was executed just makes me disappointed. To also add on to my review, Chapter 27 and half of 28 were the greatest chapters that were interesting in the book series. Chapter 27 going into details about how the MC isn’t some blow-up doll but actually a good sniper and him showing his talented skills in shooting was actually a top 10 panel in BL for me. Also, Chapter 28 with them showing the dynamics of how the MC interacts with the group and him trying to adapt to that environment while also learning to be a better shooter was the best plot line written in this book. The downside I had while further reading the series is why the ML is bullying the MC midway in chapter 28 and chapters 29-30, beating and raping him. Like you're literally trying to convince him to be on YOUR team and to assassinate your target. Why are you doing all that shit when the MC could be like, "Fuck this," and backstab you and kill your sister, Yena, and your friends. The MC has so many chances to be the villain and fuck up your whole plan. In general, I say read this manwha if you want to, this isn’t my cup of tea with the overwhelming rape scenes. The story has strong points, decent storyline, and a interesting main character. But, overtime the rape was too much.
