A lot of people seem to be turned off or mildly amused by the ML. Personally, I like him. While he could have been a lot more honest, he made his intentions entirely clear to MC. I don't think he's obliged to do anything more than what he is doing.
Guys like MC kinda annoy me. They never realize what they truly want when it's right next to them unless it's taken away. MC isn't very honest with himself. He's totally indifferent about having someone pursue him head over heels until that person stops.
