Changes between the manhwa and novel always fascinate me and I wonder how much they end up influencing reader perception of events. Taeui and Ilay 's reunion at the villa is depicted with all the fanfare of a slow, dramatic K-drama scene here whereas in the novel it's fraught with much more urgent tension with Ilay still on the bike, its engine roaring away and making it impossible for him to hear Taeui at a distance as Taeui is torn between chasing after Jaeui and remaining behind to explain the situation to Ilay.
However, I wouldn't go so far as to elevate one over the other since I think different mediums play to their own strengths and the moment they share in the manhwa is more emotional and sentimental than the action sequence of the novel. On the other hand, I can't help feeling it somewhat weakens the justification of Taeui's behavior in the moment.
