This is why it's a matter of taste. Like wdym nothing? She trusts him enough to vent out all her frustrations and tell him the truth on almost everything. She was by his side, pulled him out of his depression and basically made him a better person. I think that's more than valid lmao. It's not any better or worse than Oscar who hung onto that one moment where FL fed him like a decade+ ago to sustain his affection.

Also again w the fiction, i get it but even if they arent rated by blood, incest is still incest, and the fact her parents support it doesnt make it any better or any lesser of what the situation is. I also wish that oscar was written better because I do think its crazy how he be thinking about that moment but he wasn’t “in love” with cecelia just because of that. He wasn’t willing to annul their engagement if she wanted to, and when he started falling for cecil and then connected the dots it makes way more sense. Gil just knows everything because he is her brother!!! Sure, she pulled him out of a dark time but it did NOT have to turn into that! Like idk if you got any siblings but sharing stuff with people you trust is normal and shouldnt be associated with romantic infatuation.
I agree that sharing stuff doesn't have to be romantic, but the manga made it very not-platonic on Gil's part, and so you see him squirming to put her feelings first but at the same time he's so down bad that he can barely manage to keep the appropriate distance, that's what makes him more attractive to me than Oscar.
At the end of the day this story is good but not anything worth subjecting some type of be-better moralities to because not every story will care for it nor analyse its own content this critically. Incest is bad, but regardless of that the creator made an ending for Gil (as well as Oscar).
I'm team Gil. Oscar just seems like your basic prince/knight in shining armor type and has little to no flavor. He barely matters in the story, and is nowhere near as close to Cecilia as Gilbert.
