im so confused what was Grayson's goal here

Basically grayson was helping the kid be a better son- by fulfilling his punishment. Ashley (graysons dominant alpha father) taught him that a good person would listen to their parents and when punished, endure it. But as a little kid, Grayson was lonely during punishment. So he's staying with the kid. In that way he was helping the kid be good and not letting him be lonely.

I forgot that happened in the previous chapter.
