Haha, I think that’s the point though. The story isn’t pretending it’s ordinary, but it rather explores the boundaries of morality and “forbidden” relationships.

And if you think about it, the brothers aren’t fully human. They’re half snake, half human, which complicates how we interpret them. They possess instincts that aren’t entirely human, yet they also have a human conscience. Especially with Cecil (the black snake; bottom), we examine that inner conflict — his guilt, conflict, and self-awareness.

It’s perfectly normal to find it discomforting, and it certainly won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. That said, I think there's a certain beauty in stories that are willing to explore uncomfortable ideas rather than shy away from them.

I’ll just say it was… an interesting read.
