Haha, I think thatâs the point though. The story isnât pretending itâs ordinary, but it rather explores the boundaries of morality and âforbiddenâ relationships.
And if you think about it, the brothers arenât fully human. Theyâre half snake, half human, which complicates how we interpret them. They possess instincts that arenât entirely human, yet they also have a human conscience. Especially with Cecil (the black snake; bottom), we examine that inner conflict â his guilt, conflict, and self-awareness.
Itâs perfectly normal to find it discomforting, and it certainly wonât be everyoneâs cup of tea. That said, I think there's a certain beauty in stories that are willing to explore uncomfortable ideas rather than shy away from them.
Iâll just say it was⌠an interesting read.
