I hate that too but if the story itself compensates I'll let it slide
If the story compensates then I feel there should be no need for that kind of hook up, let the story lives, that's what I think anyway
Have you noticed that lately all manga and manwhua begins with a flashback? They show you the spicy part to hook you up and then: "how did things end up going this way?" and then the story begins. Do every manga have the same author or what
