His father is still alive just in a coma this is why Etienne is a substitude but still the crown prince and not the king, his step mother is the "queen" and she is still pretty young and healthy. I guess she would manage the affaire assisted by another kind of authority figure, once the king actualy die and if the prince really die then I guess she could get married if there is no "second in line" like a possible king's brother or a cousin of some sort. The direct linage will stop if there is any "other family member" to take the crown but there is some option for "what s next" because there is still a queen at the very least.
What will happen to the kingdom since the crown prince is not in his right mind and probably die soon anyway? I don't recall he has a brother
