he's definitely looking at the window! the door you guys are seeing is the restroom door that they just went in/shut. right across from the restroom is the window, covered up in newspapers. if you want a better look at jy's room layout, you can see in ch 7. sg is sitting with the restroom door behind his back and the window is in front of him.

"깜빡 깜빡" we always seem to get this as a symbolization for jy. in ch23, he faces his 'ugly feelings' when he confronts his assumption that sm is only being nice to him 'cause of the collaboration—with the street lights flickering in the background. here again in ch29, jy faces his feeling of always 'expecting the end of things,' going head-to-head with them instead after being influenced by sm's words. he proactively takes this chance to grab sm's hand and move forward. so proud of him... especially since we saw how in the prev chs, we know jy becomes pessimistic when he's feeling happy and really believes that things will be For The Last Time. this goes for when he first met sm and openly reveals his insomnia and light sensitivity, yet he regrets it now 'cause "back then, i never thought i'd see you again." and even whenever he drops comments like "it's not like i'll get another chance to do this anytime soon..." after the livestream (ch28). he didn't even expect he'll get more chances to make songs with sm (ch11). but yeah, the emergency exit sign in the practice room flickering at the end of the ch may exemplify the shift where jy slowly accepts that even he deserves to be happy and can enjoy life as it comes without worring about the end, especially when it comes to his passion for music.
btw i really like how when nalhun uses fluorescent lights, they flicker OFF but when it comes to light/shadow paneling, jy is always being lead out of the shadow (ch5 into ch7, ch28)... it's so personalized for him;;
