the way sm talks is as if he personally experienced it himself! i think these words were probably what he wanted to hear back then. for example, if jy is the type of jewel where cracks gradually formed on his surface due to external factors, then sm would be the type with cracks already inside him. soooo jy could regain his shine again with a bit of nurturing in no time. but in sm's case, he's like a jewel that could shatter if handled wrong. thinking about his lyrics to his lose yourself ("the flashes trained on my head feel lighter than a gun aimed at me [...]" ch24), he probably wasn't originally the 'stable' type. all those turbulent experiences and his fathers words shaped him. the sea does not get wet from the rain... so changing your perspective is what can help you move forward. and i think him saying this to jy really hints to the 'mutual salvation' keyword. this is why i feel like him supporting jy heals him as well—something about his past, his father, and h100.
as for the glance, he seems to be looking at the blocked window. another reminder that h100 has really been affecting jy's daily life;;

i love how the rain/flooding in the end of the chapter makes it look like they are under water, especially after sm's "only when you get completely soaked will you know if you're in the rain or the sea." gosh seungjaeng's relationship is like, meeting someone who needed the very things you once needed in the past and giving it away without expecting anything in return. they are each other's missing puzzle piece.
