Fr. Nothing against traumatic backstories. Everyone has been through one shit or the other but it shouldn't be used to excuse his actions. For someone supposedly shaped by abandonment, he doesn't exhibit any signs of trauma or a personality disorder. His sexual sadism apparently has nothing to do with his past. I don't think I'm ever going to like Mokyeon because Nanjo deserves so much better.

"Yeah I know I made the seme really unlikable and I'm not good enough at writing to give him a proper compelling character and redemption arc so I'll just start my next season/volume with some backstory trauma-slop and then my readers will run defense for it by screaming "iT's ExPlAInInG nOt ExCuSiNG" while completely ignoring that the narrative purpose of this is to score cheap sympathy points from the reader because I've only got so many chapters I can write before I've gotta get the couple together and grab my bag!"
