It's pavlol I think. Authors refuse to give twink ukes personalities/spine/backbone/anything. They also tend to make their buff semes absolutely abhorrable. Like,, there's writing an asshole and then there's writing a loser asshole and authors don't know the difference.

Eh it's more of authors are now releasing those buff ukes types as it's more accepted now. Twink uke is still in surplus, older works just aren't as promoted now

Let's be real, that also applies to buff ukes. Most of the times, they r also horribly raped, but it's all fine and dandy since they r buff and can take it lol for example, roses and champagne. Don't have anything against the manhwa and it's a pretty good one, but tbh.. do u rlly have a backbone if ur still gonna end up with the dude who raped u multiple times and almost killed u...??? Their appearance don't rlly have a big factor on whether if they r gonna be a doormat or not, cuz a lot for the times... The top is most likely still horrible. Like did y'all forgot the top in roses and champagne SHOT the mc??? Another example is Anastasia. It's the typical strong mc, but gets repeatedly raped and then ofc the mc will still fall for his rapist and the person who almost killed them lmao.
Also, a lot of twinks do have personality.... Does being meek automatically mean u don't have a personality?? Idk, yet again it's the typical tropes.
