Literally! Theres always a reasoning for why someone behaves the waybthey do and author did a job well done showing us his past so we can try to understand his character.
This is not a dark romance. Its just anotger story portraying real wmotions and situations that people can go through. Not evrything has to be dark black, sometimes a little lights leaking from one the cracks is way better.
He didn't need this tragic weird ass backstory. He's fine how he is. Author's need to get comfortable with readers consuming the story and personality without writing characters backwards.
