The slow updates and short chapters are killing my curiosity, so I ended up reading the novel on illegal sites (▰˘◡˘▰). For ME, the plot armor felt too pushy and blatant because every time I read his POV, I just wanted to punch him and scream, OPEN YOUR HEART, BITCH (not literally btw). He keeps taking for granted the kindness his wife gave him and the cuteness of his child in the first life just because he believed the nonsense of that psycho saint and he can't be honest with the curse nor his feeling. At this point, I should be mad at the author because this story had so much potential for a tragic/angst trope. Maybe a better ML, no baby daddy, or just the FL living peacefully with her cute child. But instead, it became a romance second-chance trope. Too late now since the story is already decided, and it’s fiction anyway. His situation is understandable, but he still had choices. He could’ve had a peaceful life with them and lift his curse with them, but his hatred and emotional issues were stronger than his own happiness. I know he loved the empress and wanted to avenge her death by exposing the real culprit, but what he did to her was just too much… Man, let me crash out over this guy alone. FAHHHHH (︶︿︶)＝凸
