Cool, thanks for the reply. sorry about my bad habit to always downgrade the expectations of such manhwa. Most of similar just stressing on power and leave the cooking or any main back story then suddenly that premise will come at some point in plot. I'm still in early chapters even now, but so far it's still amusing. Mantul
How could a Korean author not feel unhappy about Japan's past and current leadership? Japan has still not improved in their sex crime rate at all for their own citizens even let alone Koreans traveling or living there since WW2 when the majority of Korean women were assaulted or forced into sex slavery by occupying forces. The sex crime rate is still absurdly high in Japan to Japanese women. And not a single Japanese official during or since the war has ever apologized to the "comfort women" victims or any other part of their actions in WW2, in fact they refuse to teach about any of their own actions and war crimes as a country in the war in their schools so 0 effort has been made to improve ever since. Let's be real I have a positive relationship with Japan's political leadership as someone not from Korea but there's no reason to blame Koreans for viewing Japanese politicians as evil in their fiction and real life. And they don't portray all the citizens as evil, just the political leaders and the cultural tendency to not protect people from sex crimes which is still true today. These stories often also reflect on political and cultural problems in Korea by Koreans as well like the cult problem and abusive workplaces and the economy making Koreans dream of a cozy fantasy story where they can afford to live without working themselves to death and other common plot points & Korean criticisms so I'm not sure why it only disturbs you when Japan's problems are alluded to, maybe you just aren't recognizing the many times the authors critisize their own country and you only recognize when Japan is mentioned.
Wow calm down, about Japan's history, yes there's sentiment to that. But think for a sec in stead of people who read manhwa just for entertainment, no heavy feeling, just want to enjoy things.
Politics and all can easily ruins the fun. It is not everyone's cup of a coffee. Sometimes this kind of stories put a heavy weight on pointing who's on the wrong side, very obviously that makes reader (well, me) in weird feeling like am I being brainwashed?. We readers just a neutral position. And about Korea criticize their own country, what's to be underlined? Outsiders not recognizing the critics is just common thing. Which country's citizen who don't critics their own country afterall
Not only Japan Korea thing. I'm reading this one manhwa about a kid reincarnated from a successful adult that has plot looks like worshipping Elon musk so much for his success in current life. Oh i can't tell the comment section is full of readers saying "why's he glazing Elon so much" and I realized that the portion is just too much that kinda hurting the plot. Same same situation. We understand the situation, just put it in moderation will do. It still gives the message

Is this your typical Japan is evil Korea is the best type of story again? I just reach early chapters now, just spill it out if it is one. Actually I just interested by the title
