Frankly from the beginning, there was no fault of MC. Later maybe when he betrayed ML.

ML is not entitled to help MC. And MC is not entitled to trust ML. Both kept their secrets.
Maybe MC caused emotional distress to Ml. But he had MC in the palm of his hands from the beginning. All this fiasco, I think ML is the biggest winner. He got everything. Wikileaks, MC and love as well.

MC's father was the one who wronged ML, not MC. And mc chose Ml maybe due to love. But I think it can only be the logical option for him if we overlook the emotional drama. He was just the better of the worse evils.
Frankly I don't understand MCs like these, how they can fall in love with someone so manipulative. And him going to MC's cousin was the most stupid decision.

Till then, I kept thinking MC as a victim. In his situation he couldn't do anything even if he wanted to. There was none that could have been done or he did that felt satisfying. There wasn't any moment throughout the story where I felt MC was in control of situation or a clapback or someone who could stand alone on his own. He is a victim surely but as the protagonist of the story, he is mentally strong but on the plot or other characters around his ability wasn't very useful.
He kept making decisions and regretted it.
He doubted the ML, still loved him
He didn't like the little brother did about his mother, told him off twice, then said you don't need to mind. He does love him
He had the letter of father but never read it due to trauma
His mother left, he never searched for her cause he felt he was abandoned. He then willingly signed wikileaks contract to Ml with billion repayment if betrayed.
Then betrayed ML
All his loan was 4 million
And now he wants to con billions
He willingly signed it but regretted when cousin said they would pay 10 million for it
Doubted ML for it
When they had sex, he wanted respect and not to treated like a prostitute. When Ml said do you want apology, he said he wanted consolation in the form of sex
The benifit of doubt towards ML is mainly due to

Mc doesn't know Ml won't harm him. There is no assurance and even if spelled out it would be difficult to trust him. All agreements and clauses have been detrimental only to MC. He is literally in the palm of the hand of Ml.
Mc has 4 million debt and for the same info that he is giving to ml, someone said they would pay 10 million on top of original. Mc signed an agreement of billion dollar payment if he betrays ML.
ML took advantage of MC's naivety and less information knowledge. He is also keeping someone like Minguk? Who betrayed Dad as his subordinate.
Mc already has a lot of stress. Now he is just rethinking and getting less confident on his decision.
After MC pays that wiki? He'll just be debt free, not actually free since he'll be still poor and helpless. It doesn't matter to ML he can have both the wiki and MC however he wants. Where as MC has a lot to loose. If ML wasn't definitely shown as the lead protagonist, he would have been a villain or archenemy. Clearly if we overlook the emotional line, everything is under control of ML. Even in emotional line, ML took care of a lot of bunch and it is easy to manipulate MC and make him dependant. He is quite formidable. Someone who is on grey scale, neither good or bad. And doesn't let emotions come in the way of decision
