basically, we find out that jooyeon and jiwook went to highschool together, jooyeon was i think 3 years younger than jiwook, they would hang out together and jiwook (who was an extremely closeted gay) would act quite lovingly with him in secret, this caused jooyeon to start to fall in love with him, so one day jooyeon confesses to jiwook, however jiwook also liked jooyeon in that way, but because he was so heavily internally homophobic and because he didnt want anyone to know he decide to attack jooyeon, he told him to meet at the gym i think it was, and from there, he and his friends gang raped him and beat him for a year non stop, and on top of that jiwook raped a bunch of girls too. and the reason jooyeons mother is in hospital is because jiwook took videos and pictures of what be was doiing to jooyeon and sent it to her leading her to have an extreme mental health decline because of witnessing it and never getting better. the reason jiwook doesnt remember is because i want to say he got beaten up by some gang really badly? i dont remember that bit very well, be he forgot all about what he did, and stayed a shitty person.
(also mind you jooyeon is a child when this all happened so he was left intensely traumatised and it completely changed the outcome of what his personality would become)
