When you really think of it the dialogue is so cringey. Who irl viewed high school like a food chain? And their constant talk about who’s “at the top”…? Like are we a shounen MC training to be the strongest hero??? It’s good art but their issues are so small and stupid when you zoom out.

Oh you must not know about south korea's high school ecosystem. It is genuinely terrifying how classist and hierarchal it is. These are also teenagers, idk how you experience being a teenager but everything little thing felt heightened due to your hormones and stuff. Ignoring all of that, this is obviously fiction and a character study type of manhwa.

Actually a thing that is talked about in the novel. That everyone is fighting for that imaginary top dog place that has no real meaning once you get into the real world and graduate highschool.

Sure some people may have felt like others were above or below them in h.s. but my point was that you don’t ever hear it vocalized, like in this story, which makes it cringe lol.

And it’s definitely a h.s. thing. At the time, whether it’s sports, academics, the arts, etc. once you graduate you realize how little the things you made your world in school actually are compared to real life.
