Worse he's a Chaebol, and families like those can pretty much get away with more than just white collar crimes. Literally as long as they don't toe their local mobster or local bought off govt officials bottomline, they will look the other way. You don't understand just how much these families control in Korea Republic. These conglomerates they run influence every aspect of their society, ex. Samsung. It is also usually older men around the grandfathers age who still run a majority of them. They often craft public images to make themselves appear appealable to the ruled class, but with enough money like them you can easily manipulate how the general public may perceive you. It's takes a herculean effort to hold members of that class responsible for things they do. I'm not surprised the grandfather struck now.
