I might be wrong but I think that in the novel her body stays in coma and in the sides she goes momentarily to the other universe and kill her other self, I'm not quite sure about the killing part, but she does go to see her body at some point.

I think ive read some spoiler and they subtly said Penelope get to 'wake up' and probably said her heart concent to her real family before cutting it all.
Yea that's pretty much it. I've read the novel.
If Penelope chooses to stay it means that her real body dies, do we get to know of what happened to her brothers and father after that or no?
