sigh. yk my biggest problem with most yaoi these past couple of years is how random SA and rape scenes are thrown in for absolutely no reason, and the victim and abuser get together, which normalises this kind of behaviour and the fetishisation of abuse on queer men. yes at the end of the day it’s fiction, so theres a level of detachment and one can easily discern whats wrong and whats right, but i also believe that many people forget how powerful fiction is and the influence it has. to speak about this story specifically, i don’t think it’s fair to say that since daewoo is a devil, he shouldn’t be applying human standards and gets a ‘get out of jail free’ card, bc at the end of the day, he lived with humans for a very long time and not to mention, he himself acknowledges that his actions and behaviour was disgusting and wrong. again, the time he spent living with humans allowed him to build a conscious and granted him the ability to discern between right and wrong, and morals. i don’t think it’s right to say hes a devil so it’s different for them, when hes able to make that distinction and has been living with guilt. you’re welcome to agree or disagree with me, but this is my opinion, and i don’t believe in separating my morals from the stories i consume just bc it’s fiction
