i definitely read this one before and forgot about the plot. i'm glad i got to read this again. i laughed when i saw the "annoying uke" tag, not because of amusement but because i realized once again how people can be so shallow. akiina is probably neurodivergent. he has troubles naming his feelings, and that's why he writes them down immediately whenever he can. it's shown throughout the whole manga, so readers can't miss that for the life of them. it's shown that he has attachments to his brother too and that they're estranged from their parents. that probably added fuel to the fire. and with all that, he has things in their places, and places for all the things he has (in this case, "things" are his feelings and beliefs), with that, imagine everything messed up. you'd also be shaken and question everything you've ever known. he didn't choose to NOT love shishio, he simply couldn't understand (for the life of him) that he already loves him, and that's why gnawing on his mind besides all the things he's slowly realizing. akiina and his experiences with his feelings aren't new, this actually happens in real life, with real people. calling him annoying or stupid shows how you simply can't understand a character despite everything laid out to you.
