I think the biggest problem ppl are having with the side couple is that we simply don’t really know them. Unlike other stories where both the main and side cast/couple are in close proximity; So-yi being in a different class/friend group from Byul and Bin being in a completely different grade, just puts way to much distance between all the characters. This makes it harder for the author to organically engineer situations where everyone is present and where the audience can be smoothly exposed to the side couple. Instead we’ve ended up with the feeling that the side couple is being “shoved” down our throats because during the main story, we simply didn’t interact with them as side character enough to get invested in their story and want to see whole chapters dedicated too what they have going on.
While I don’t think most of the comments intended to be lesbophobic as ppl simply just don’t care about the girls; the way some ppl are voicing their lack of interest is just that, and a LOT of the comments specifically in reference to Bin straight up reek of misogyny
But it’s like this in EVERY story ! You won’t know the side couple as well as the main couple but people never get angry about that. The truth is yall hate seeing women loving women so yall are pressed about it, but because we’re being hypocritical we will act as if it’s not the case I guess
