good ending

jo really didn’t belong with youngwoo. what he wanted from yw wasn’t who yw really was, but rather the idealised version jo imagined with the few positive traits from yw he cherrypicked.

meanwhile, yw was the center of tj’s world. it’s been made clear that tj only had one obsession/love/goal/dream: and it was yw, in whatever way he could have him

and idk why but i don’t think yw returns either of these guys’ feelings. yw’s the kinda guy who’d take a bullet for even someone like chris, as long as he believes they don’t deserve to be harmed. because of his mistakes and past (abusive, neglected childhood), he’s never going to “forgive” himself, so his way of life is 100% passive self harm: alcohol, gratuitous sex, drugs, lack of self care… you name it

but it’s without a shred of doubt that if there’s anyone or anything that yw loves unconditionally, it’s tj.

because tj is the one guy he could never abandon or give up on.

and for all of tj’s sins, not trying to justify his actions or anything, i just think his self awareness got totally fucked after the jang + david kim situation. all that man wanted was youngwoo. that’s it

in any case, i tried to love jo the way the author and so many of y’all seem to, but… he reminds me of the kind of people that fall for big scams. he’s too stupid and self-absorbed. so he matured in the end, and i think that’s awesome. i hope he eventually gets totally over that shitty phase of his life.

i think yw brought out the absolute worst in jo. this young, promising artist would’ve had his entire life destroyed if yw chose him.

and no love endures such hardship without warping into hatred.

so! GOOD ending. and weirdly enough, yw finally seems super happy!!! he deserves it!! and i say this because of how good he was to toby (my favorite character)
