So rushed

The other two ladies-in-waiting just completely disappeared??
I feel like Regef knew they weren’t actually siblings, but still cared about her anyway(?) Or maybe he just needed her. I really couldn’t make sense of his obsession. At first, there was that flashback where he hears his father say “you’re not from my seed,” and I thought, “oh, he’s in love with her.” But it’s not even that—he just comes off as purely obsessive.

There’s magic in the story, but it’s never explored deeply. There’s absolutely no explanation for why she dies in that world, wakes up in a modern-day setting, dies again, and then returns to the same world.

In the Age of Ceremony, Edel’s mother was supposedly going to accompany her, but there wasn’t even a single proper scene about that either. So many things were left hanging.

The art was amazing, and the translation was really well done. Overall, the story itself was enjoyable, but the rushed, almost careless ending really ruined it for me. And on top of that, nothing even happened with Rafaello…

I’m honestly a bit frustrated and disappointed. Still, I can’t deny that I really enjoyed reading it while it lasted, so it’s definitely one of my favorites.
