I'm so fed up with these four horsemen of the yaoi apocalypse and their ai slop translations, that I just decided to read the novel instead.
And the ML is giving me some serious flashbacks of my past relationship with my ex.
Even some of the stuff MC says during their argument are almost line to line the same stuff I said back in the day!
I'm in chapter 42 and so far ML: seems to struggle expressing and understanding emotions, has difficulty recognising emotional needs of others, when recognising an emotional need offers mismatched support, is misunderstood as indifferent and emotionless, confirmed to be sensitive to noises, and has completely missed some social cues.
This is just my biased wild theory, but hear me out.... Could the man be on the spectrum? Some of the stuff does remind me quite a bit of my ex with autism diagnosis.
Also, he does follow literal instructions to the T! And the times MC is super explicit with him about what he wants and what he doesn't want, he immediately delivers!
To be honest though, my ADHD ass would have also struggled with how this MC was before their divorce. Hiding away his feelings and thoughts, like a squirrel hoarding nuts for the winter
