In my opinion, I think this captures how toxic gender norms affect the youth--both assigned male and female. They make people assume to act a certain way in order to seek validation, whether it be in themselves or for others who are also tainted push these harmful expectations. I find it beautiful how yo and kei were able to learn to escape that, however I wish min was able to experience that freeing feeling of not conforming to gender norms. Or at least show such a fleeting feeling as kei and yo felt. The imagery of yo and kei as children showing affection without society impacting them was also very stunning. I also found it clever how when kei was discovering their body (feeling uncomfortable in it as a child to masturbating to acting provacotive and lewd) were hints to them slowly letting societies standards swallow them. They also dragged yo into it and i also thought that was very stunning work too. Although, that is just my interpretation and I actaully might be wrong by a long shot LOOOL. Another scene i really liked was when kei and ren showed their bare and true forms. It collapsed the idea on how having certain body parts is supposed to determin everything about you. It was such a gorgeous scene where two people were able to fully understand and see eachother in their puriest forms. A saw a lot of people speaking upon a lot of rape scenes, and honestly i feel like those scenes were "nessecary" just to show the reason why these gender norms are so harmful. How they make people act.
