So like… Sombrero is plant based parasite. His people essentially take the body of hosts as their own. However he has an artificially created body. He was the last life born from his planets soil but he was also what marked the death of his planet. They are harvesting human emotion to essentially fix their planet because apparently humanity has so much to spare. Our MC happened to be one of those but he would turn into the root creature if he were to go out of control. After his encounter with Sombrero, the two decided to help each other thus this relationship was founded. Sombrero was loved and took on the role of being the one to fix his home planet after feeling as though he was the reason for its death while our MC has been starved of love by his father. Both are suffering with a kind of expectation that traps them. And they’re finding a bee sense of freedom with each other.
