He was disgusted by HIS own lowly desires for her (he feel it since the first time he saw her) he view her as noble (not that noble, but noble pure like yk smth like that) he view his desires for her js too dirty/beastly (esp after they had sex, and he saw those marks he left in her body) and will hurting/dirtying her.
So he put his distance from her since the beginning but bc of that night and after he got excomunicated from the church, he js thought hes really disgrace esp for her (he did not blame fl at all) So he aint showed up in front of her again but the spoiler i read said he always sent valuable things for her
Idk if those things never got into her hands or what bc when he saw her (1st life) living condition (really poor and had massive debt) he feel painful and sad
