I understand you see it that way! And It's true that Nathan didn't wanna listen to Alex or give him a chance to explain, but he was also hurt as well. So it's not completely fair to say he should be "punished". We should get some of his pov later like it happened in novel. But yeah I felt so bad Alex I had tears in my eyes the entire time reading about how lonely and miserable he felt
I do acknowledge Nate's pain, but this is just me (ig over) emphatizing with Alex because of the feeling of abandonment, loneliness and trauma that even affected him physically for those period before Nate find's out the truth, and I guess i really held on to his promise to Alex, when Alex told him if he ever make a mistake that Nate will forgive him (and maybe give him a chance to explain), but he was focused in his own pain that he refused to see how Alex was also suffering. but then Alex is a cutie at the end so... I support him being hopelessly inlove, and Nate was redeeming himself, loved that for him.

Alex don't deserve any of those things he went through and I don't think Nate was punished enough (in my opinion) for what he put Alex through , goddamnit, my eyes are puffy rn
