And let me tell ya’ll. I am the biggest redemption arc girly. My standards for ML groveling and suffering from their mistakes is as high as all the drugs in the world combined. After reading the novel, the redemption arc left me so fucking satisfied. Lyle—even to the very end, had done nothing but apologize and walked on eggshells to protect and care for Haejin. The entire novel itself is 80% dedicated to redeeming and keeping Haejin happy. This manhwa adaptation has definitely captured the “suffering” arc so far.
Also, Haejin is such a badass girly. He never faltered easily and kept an indifferent attitude towards Lyle’s efforts for redemption. This goat of an UKE did not make it easy for Lyle to be forgiven.
Haejin’s nonchalance and indifference was so satisfying to read.
And you know what, after reading the novel, you will actually come to like Lyle.
