Some couples give each other permission to do this in real life. Perhaps some authors just assume it's normal in all relationships, or that readers will understand that there's permission beforehand. But definitely, it's something that should be discussed between the couple before it happens.
I know a lot of people irl who are into dubcon/cnc with their partners irl so it's hard for me to be upset if even mc didn't mind and even seemed happy(?) About lol
