Great Story! Intriguing so far! however I’m just not as invested in Sataki & Yaichi romantic relationship like it’s just a meh loosely developed plot device for me. It’s kind of abrupt how she’s ride or die for him and kind of crashes out after he gets stabbed in the eye but author hasn’t really portrayed their relationship for that long to warrant that degree of intimate concern? And then when you juxtapose it against Sataki’s relationship with Kyo, it seems even more absurd because I feel the justification in Sataki wanting to help and protect Kyo because it’s been portrayed multiple times throughout the manga so far that she has scruples about the myther test and she worries about his psychological health yk? I’m not posing Sataki & Kyo’s relationship as “romantic” in any means, but you feel they genuinely respect and care for each other despite the bickering and fussing. Yaichi’s character imo is introduced to as a quasi foil to Kyo and the potential of Kyo’s master awakening. The top agent of the state has “awoken” their master vs. The runners-up 2nd place agent of state who is still under the state’s control. I’m kind of confused as to how he all of a sudden is like (to Sataki) “My Master is awake and I’m in love with you let’s go out ” which evolves to Sataki crashing-out like haven’t you just been dating this Yaichi for like 2 weeks or a month why are you acting like he’s your soulmate being ripped from you flesh & bone??? Imo if the author wanted a Sataki x Yaichi as a convincing romantic plot device they should have introduced his character earlier and showed him at least pining over Sataki, gaining each others trust before he finally reveals his master has awoken and it would have sort of perfectly conceded with being her cynical about her role as a surveillance tool and that would have made her choice to finally choose her own path (to protect Kyo) stronger. Moreover, Her crash out at the fight scene would have had more meat for me to sink my teeth into and appreciate. Idkkkkkkkkk this is my rambling & I know Sataki & Yaichi’s story isn’t the main story but their relationship to Kyo IS integral to main story so if they had a stronger story line, adding more layers to their relationship with Kyo, I felt the post-fight scene with Kyo could have been more poignant and emotional. And Kyo telling em to “run-away together” wouldn’t have felt kind of sudden. Like we’d have been building up to that point.
