Yah I like his new outfit too hehe. People say it looks like mourning clothes but it looks like a wedding clothes to me. Maybe I want the reveal of his outfit to be more of an impact too, where there is a moment where everyone is like "Oh what the hell, didn't expect that from our weak little MC."
There just not enough tension and built up for the sacrifice to feel meaningful.
