idk, some people are just idiots.
Also obsessing over gender roles and being macho might seem benign to many but it comes preloaded with a lot of bigotry and prejudice. It doesn't have to come from family, it's everywhere anyways - school, friends, TV, society as a whole.
im glad the mother step up, lover her for that but i wonder why he is acting this terrible even tho his whole family is chill like these kind of bigotry and hatred very often learned from family so it feels out of place rn, maybe elder brother went through something, not that justifies his behaviour but i feel like there is more to it in his reaction
