From what I've heard, the novel ends suddenly when Taeui is on a bus-stop and Ilay finds him which leads to Taeui getting raped by Ilay (not 100% sure)
It doesn't really end suddenly. Pretty sure they get to talk it out (after ilay realized Taeui not going anywhere but his side). We also get side stories in the first story (Passion). But I like the sequels are as interesting or perhaps more compared to the first novel.

i highly, recommend reading the novels if your r uncomfortable with the grape scenes u can skip that and immediately go to the part where they talk it out, after that there is a hidden track where the author of passion made a lil crossover chapter of one of their other bl novels with passion novel where tae and another mc bonds over having obsessive german bfs and then there is diaphonic symphonia and passion suite where more of iltae plus other side parings are shown! (the novel is completely free on AO3 btw and the suite novel can be read in scribd)
