Oh, I think I finally understand what's going on.

If I'm not wrong, our guy is a human, and the so-called ML is some kind of powerful creature that has his own cult. The cult is so disturbing and violent that our guy can't accept it, which frustrates the ML. Since the ML is obsessed with him, yet also acts as if he doesn't exist, he manipulates him in every possible way to make him love him, obey him, or at least become completely devoted to him.

That only makes our guy even more miserable because his own consciousness keeps resisting both the cult's violence and the person he's supposed to "love." That's why I'm starting to doubt whether his feelings for the ML were ever genuine. If they are real, then they probably come from a past our MC has forgotten, one we still know almost nothing about. Maybe they knew each other before the cult even existed, and that's where the ML became obsessed with him.

Honestly, it feels like everything happening now is the ML's fault. He's incredibly powerful, clearly not human, and, to me, he's the real villain of the story.

I also had a feeling the High Priest was doing something behind the ML's back. They definitely have some kind of deal going on without our guy knowing, but I'm especially suspicious of the High Priest.

The foreigner is obviously our second ML. If this story has even a little pity for the MC, it'll have him escape this messed-up cult and run away to the other continent. What's interesting is that this civilization doesn't even know another continent exists, and the MC himself was shocked by the idea because the ML manipulated him into becoming part of the cult. He's just as clueless as everyone else there.

For now, the foreigner and that surprisingly self-aware guard are the only characters giving me hope.

Also the characters are sooo pretty ╥﹏╥

I thought the story is definitely hinting to our guy truly being a God… I might be wrong tho because I’m not fully caught up. I only think this because of his interaction with the Tiger as well as the 500 years ago interaction with the ML. Also they showed how he was able to survive a very potent poison.

You might be right, he just seems so human to me I can't look at him like a god compared to ml.
They also hinted at him being the human part of the ml which means he's also a god, but it would be incest for them to do alldat so I refuse to believe it lol. ( ̄へ ̄)
