The "deal" Amon has with the priest is to keep Na-in "happy" so anytime Amon sees Na-in distressed he asks the priest to make him "haply" which in this case would be erasing any distressing memories. Amon is not aware or in touch with emotions at all. He may seem "happy" when Na-in is happy but I think the more correct term is "satisfaction" and "content". Na-in and Amons souls are connected so if theyre separated they dont do well. Amon not to dismiss him of anything but bros literally a lizard, like in a way the priest is manipulating him bc Amon actually doesnt care for the whole ritual "God" shit, Amon would be happy floating on a rock with Na-in feeding bro grapes but in a way was convinced this is what is gonna make Na-in happy and bc bros deadass not in tune with humanity and the emotions to go with it he only knows when na-in is distressed and when na-in is happy..and when Nain is distressed he goes to another human who is supposed to have their best interest in mind...said human is corrupt and wants power over the gods..Pink dude is better for Na-ins mental health 100% because despite whatever form Nains soul took hes still mortal mentally
Than is it true that they have some kind of past that Na-in doesn't remember? If so then why doesn't Amon find it strange that Na-in is different in some sense? Is he that oblivious? I find it kinda hard to believe...
He understands that na-in inheritaly doesn't like violence so if Amon want to make him happy he should stop the violence I'm sure he understands that much but he doesn't stop, so that where I come from by saying he's kinda evil.
I feel like the pink-haired guy (the second ML) is actually trying to wake the MC up from the manipulation he's been subjected to. It seems like he's slowly interfering with the ritual, hoping the MC will gradually realize what's really going on and trust me something sketchy is going on.
And by "manipulation," I mean that ritual they keep performing every time the MC becomes distressed by the cult's violence, emotional burden, or the forgotten memories that seem to resurface. I'm convinced the ritual is part of the deal between the ML and the High Priest. In hopes to make mc dumber rather than happier, because we saw he's good with bows meaning he's or was in a way a strong person with determined mind and values which didn't go along with MLS actions Soo guess what no did!?
My guess is that the ML made that deal "for the sake of the MC" but it doesn't fucking benefit the MC at all. If anything, it's done the exact opposite. It's made him so miserable and mentally broken that he ended up with amnesia.
(Also thats why I think there's some kind of past behind them, I'm guessing when that creature(ml) emerged from volcano or whatever it was, the first person it got attacked to was the mc who recently had kind heart and free spirit. And no ruined IT ALLL!!!! )

I'm genuinely so pissed off on the MC's behalf. This whole thing feels like a decision driven entirely by the ML's selfish obsession rather than any actual concern for the MC's well-being. I honestly can't stand him.
It's not like I particularly like the pink-haired guy either, but compared to the ML, he's so much better.
