long rant below

i did enjoy this and the ending did feel very much like a movie, but was that was the problem. let me start off by saying i dont mean anything negative towards the author and their writing, but yk its their first story and it very clearly shows. id been waiting years for this to be completed so i could read it but i felt like it was rather disappointing, even thought i did like it

number one, the logic in everything was just severely flawed. the fact that juhyeok never suspected the bear is absolutely bonkers. youre telling me, this experienced gangster who is overprotective over hae-on and has a generally cynical attitude, never once thought there was nothing up with him? youre telling me this man who had a background check or whatever run on that photographer, never thought to run a background check on the bear even though hae-on was working for him? youre telling me that despite having so much manpower, that one day when hae-on was attacked in the alley, there was not a single soul monitoring hae-on bc geonho and the others got called away - there was no backups AT ALL???? - and hae-on never even told juhyeok about it too. and youre telling me, from all the days he spent watching over hae-on, it ever so conveniently worked out that that tiger guy never once worked the same shift as hae-on, so geonho never saw him and recognised him. it’s just such incredibly flawed logic. these gangsters who go through life constantly looking over their shoulders, never once thought to look deeper to the new people around hae-on. HELLO??? this is why i say it’s so easy to tell that it’s this authors first story, but to be fair, theres veterans out there that still write like this so

number two, the whole thing of season two was just bullshit man. it was just sex and unexplained plans. everything was left to the reader to interpret but there wasn’t much to read in between the lines in the first place. yes of course you can easily put two and two together and realise that old fart was trafficking hybrids, but the whole facade of hae-on pretending to not care about juhyeok never made any sense. hae-on literally only worked for the bear to get advice to make juhyeok his boyfriend, it was so obvious him and the tiger were never gonna fall for the whole “i don’t care about you anymore, keep your distance” shtick hae-on had going. then the entertainment agency that went fucking nowhere hello? juhyeok giving away his title, shares and everyfuckingthing else for what?? like at the end of the day, it basically amounted to nothing, let’s be for real

number three, which ties in with number four, but man what was that ending. it’s definitely like a movie, but there wasn’t anything behind it you know. it just felt very superficial and obviously very rushed. like we go through the whole of season two in circles of hae-on not telling juhyeok anything and protecting him while juhyeok simultaneously doesnt tell hae-on anything and wants to protect him, and then in the last ten chapters, we get slammed with all of this new information. you blink and something is popping up. and i guess that whole ‘big’ (sarcasm) revelation with the eagle guy not being evil. it’s just like, it had SO MUCH potential to be great, but they decided to just squash everything together and make it happen so quickly so it feels meh

number four, GEONHO AND DOYUN. OHMYFUCKINGGOD CAN YOU FOCUS ON MY SECOND COUPLE AND LET MY SHIP SAIL FUCK. i think anyone with eyes and a brain was shipping them from their first interaction, like it was so clear there was something between them, and it only got better as time went by. then boom, rejection. okay fair enough - im thinking, things will happen yada yada yada (read this in caleb’s voice lol) theyll end up together by the end of the story and everyone will be happy (me most of all) BUT NO. i really do hope there are side stories, because in the last chapter we saw doyun going to that boxing gym which obviously means hes going to see geonho, so i hope we get side stories that features them

number five, bear man and tiger man. MAAAANNNNN, i wanna see them together idk. theyre so earth and fire, i love it. i just wanna see more of them, theyre cute. and i dont like this whole thing with that rut tablet that bear man developed and we just never see him again. i mean yeah we saw him in the last chapter, but both of them were drinking coffee and what? bear man obviously never liked that old fart chairman and he developed that tablet, so i wanna know more about him. he seems to have an interesting backstory and the fact that he doesn’t have a family, oh i love me a tortured tragic character. hes just so interesting, it’s disappointing how we don’t get to learn any more. again, i hope we get side stories or at least a spin off that elaborates more on him. and tiger too, idk hes just so cute and silly, i love him

number six, it’s not really that big of an issue for me bc juhyeok never acted untoward hae-on or expressed romantic interest towards him until hae-on became an adult, and even after that, he still struggled to accept his feelings bc he was aware he raised hae-on, but i really hate this trope of “i raise you and we stay close and i think of myself as your father but i will fall in love with you anyway because you love me”. in one of the special episodes where juhyeok was the hybrid, we saw how easy it was for the author to write a different path where it wasn’t so iffy and groomish. like obviously childhood to adulthood works differently for hybrids, but juhyeok still raised him while hae-on was a child, which was really unnecessary. i feel like if the author was gonna choose that route, they could’ve at least made it so that they were separated for many years in between but i do understand that yk, hae-on was an adult

yeah i guess ive aired out my grievances. i hope to see more of eagle man too, perhaps he and bear man could be something too who knows. but overall, i did enjoy this story but im not sure whether id say it was a good story. i mean i did like it and verdicts on things like this can never have an objective conclusion on whether it’s good or not. but i liked it

OH AND BABY HAE-ON WAS SOOOOOO CUTE. i was screenshotting every time i saw him URGH SO CUTE SO CUTE SO CUTE I JUST WANNA EAT HIM

also, i always love me a young puppy top (LITERALLY) and an older bottom. it’s so yum
